Matthew Reid is a classically trained, eclectic composer.
Currently, he is the musical director for
The Second City -Toronto where he provides a live soundtrack nightly
for their latest revue, Barack to the Future.
He has become a specialist of providing live soundtracks for comedic and improv theatrical productions.
He has performed with comedians from SCTV, SNL and Whose Line is it Anyway? Reid has studied with some of Canada's most respected composers including: Chan Ka Nin, Walter Bucyzinski and Lothar Klein.
He's the other member of sketch comedy duo Reid Along with Browning,
as well as the music improviser for the award winning improv troupe Slap Happy.
Matthew is also a composer of serious classical music.
He refers to the style of his mature works as neo-post-romantic.
He's always interested in creating new works for serious musicians.
