good to see you here...I have joined you in ther Naxos stable with an album of Shakespeare Songs accompanied by Dot Linell. Years of research & scores on their way I hope.
I'm sure John will forgive me for adding that the Palestrina recording to which he refers in his comment is your Missa Papae Marcelli on Naxos.
On a separate note, I wanted to refer back to the Naxos Live! 2006 event which I mentioned in my first comment on your wall. I hadn't realised that this whole concert is on sale at Classics Online. Needless to say, I snapped it up immediately.
Jeremy, I recently bought the Naxos Palestrina, not my usual listening, but it came highly reccomended. No wonder. It's a very very fine recording indeed. I also have another of your recordings which I'm going to look out and listen to with renewed delight (I think it's a Vivaldi/Bach or Fuare (or both) - I'll look it out right now and enjoy it - but the Palestrina recording is vividly beautiful.
As you know there's a whole army of us out here who want to hear more!
Very grateful. Keep up the brilliant work.
You'll remember me saying I was planning to review your Naxos recording of Palestrina's Missa Papae Marcelli with the Oxford Camerata. Well, it's here.
I'd welcome your thoughts on it if and when you have time.
Thanks for getting in touch, Jeremy - and Happy New Year.
Thought you might be interested to know that towards the end of February 2009, I'm reviewing the Oxford Camerata's Naxos CD recording of Palestrina's Missa Papae Marcelli on my blog: www.aneverymanforhimself.com
I'd welcome any comments from you once you've read it.
I wanted to say a belated 'thank you' to you and the Oxford Camerata for the performances you gave at the Naxos Live event at St. John's, Smith Square a few years back (and indeed, for the many recordings I have of your work). My wife and I were in the front row and were very impressed by what we heard. Particularly the remarkable soprano voice of young Eloise Irving. The memory of her singing Stanford's The Blue Bird is still very much with us.
