IMOGEN HOLST: String Chamber Music

.." a touching and beautifully presented tribute to a significant figure in 20th-century British music" - The Guardian

Hello everyone - I'm Christine Tinker and this is Imogen Holst's page!

Imogen Holst is best remembered as the daughter of Gustav Holst and as Britten’s amanuensis. But she was a gifted composer in her own right, as these world premiere recordings of her string chamber music by Court Lane Music show.

This recording has been recently released to critical acclaim, including a 5 star recommendation from the BBC Music Magazine, and it's on all the major music networks such as iTunes and Napster. It's in stock at HMV.com and Amazon UK

Listen to clips from the CD , read the sleeve notes and download as mp3s here

And read about Imogen Holst and the recording here ... and here

"Remember Handel? Who, that was not born
Deaf as the dead to harmony, forgets,
Or can, the more than Homer of his age?"
