A recording of Alfredo Campoli and Peter Katin recorded during a concert in the Fairfield Halls Croydon.
The professional recording, made by Geoffrey Terry has just been discovered and when played, the tape was in perfect condition.
The sound quality is equal to any recordings made today and has the added advantage that it was not interferred with during the recording or transfer process.
The end result is an audio, mirror image of the concert, which includes Mozart K526, the Beethoven Op30 no.2
Geoffrey Terry became friends with Alfredo and visited him at his house in Souhtgate on many occasions. He also recorded him during rehearsal.
The final work on the CD is the Brahms Op108, recorded in Campoli's house, once again with Peter Katin.
Information on the CD can be found by visiting www.orchestralconcertcds.com
It can also be purchased at a cost of £10 plus £3 postage.

Do you mean on the opening page? If so it's the second movement from Philharmonic Dances by Jan Novak, the only pupil of Bohuslav Maritinu.
If you mean the piece connected to the Campoli/Katin CD, then it is the Scherzo from Mozart's K526
Regards
Geoffrey
Sorry, I should have mentioned that the piece, background to the opening page of www,orchestralconcertcds.com, occurs in it's entirety on CD1/2008 The Brno Philharmonic Orchestra. The first CD in the expanding catalogue.
